Traditional Consignment Items

 

Item Standards & Acceptance

  1. N&C accepts like-new, clean, stylish clothing from selective stores. We do not accept discount store brands for consignment (donation only).

  2. All consigned items must be clean, current season, in style, and in like-new condition.

  3. We will not accept items with stains, rips, missing buttons, broken zippers, moth holes, unpleasant odors (cigarette smoke, moth balls, mildew, etc.), or visible wear.

  4. We are very brand selective. Not all items brought to an appointment will be accepted. Slow-selling or out-of-style items will not be taken.

  5. We currently accept women’s and men’s clothing (all sizes, including big and tall), designer leather or name-brand purses, women’s/men’s leather or name-brand shoes showing no visible wear and vintage apparel..

  6. Acceptance and pricing are at the sole discretion of N&C. All decisions, including necessary price reductions, are final.

Appointment & Drop-Off Process

  1. All items are accepted by appointment only, Monday–Saturday from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Please call 270-878-0978 to schedule.

  2. A minimum of 20 acceptable items is required to open a new account. We recommend bringing more than 20 items, as we are brand selective.

  3. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be provided one tote. All items must fit inside the tote. Only one tote is allowed per appointment.

  4. Items that do not meet our standards must be picked up within 72 hours of notification.

Sales, Shelf Life & Online Transition

  1. Items have a 45-day shelf life in-store. If they do not sell within 45 days, they may transition to our online sales platforms (Poshmark, eBay, etc.) to allow new inventory to circulate.

  2. N&C has full discretion regarding where items are sold. Higher-end items may go directly to online sales.

  3. Your payout percentage does not increase if your item is sold online, as additional platform fees apply.

Payout & Payment

  1. Consignors receive 50% of the final selling profit.

  2. Payment for sold items may be picked up in-store. Checks for the prior month will be available on the 10th of the following month (or next business day).

  3. Checks will not be issued for balances under $9.99 unless it is the third consecutive month with a balance.

Additional Policies

  1. N&C is an alternative to yard sales. Please do not use our service as a last resort before donating to a thrift store. Our most successful consignors bring items before hosting a yard sale.

  2. We keep your clothing until it sells or transitions online.

  3. N&C reserves the right to dispose of, without liability, any items deemed unsellable.

  4. N&C is not responsible for loss or damage for any reason. All items are left at the owner’s risk.

Top-Tier Online Consignment Policy

 

The Nook & Cranny offers a Top-Tier Online Consignment program for select higher-value items that are best suited for our online sales platforms. This program expands the audience for premium goods and helps maximize the return for consignors.

Item Eligibility

  • Top-Tier consignments are not limited to clothing or shoes and may include accessories, specialty items, collectibles, and other high-value goods.

  • Items must be in excellent, like-new condition and meet The Nook & Cranny’s quality and brand standards.

  • Items considered for Top-Tier Online Consignment should have an estimated 70% sell-through rate based on market demand and past sales performance.

  • Acceptance into the program is at the sole discretion of The Nook & Cranny.

Consignor Payout

  • Top-Tier items will be sold through our online sales platforms.

  • Consignors receive 60% of the final selling price, with 40% retained by The Nook & Cranny to cover platform fees, listing management, marketing, processing, and fulfillment.

Additional Policies

  • All standard store and consignment policies remain in effect unless otherwise noted.

  • The Nook & Cranny reserves the right to determine pricing, selling platform, and promotional adjustmentsnecessary to successfully sell the item.

  • Items may be listed and marketed online for the duration necessary to complete the sale.
